Say hello to Jasper, a happy and highly affectionate 8-year-old Tri-Color boy. His original owner released him to Cavalier Rescue because of unexpected personal circumstances. Jasper was loved, well cared-for, and has a great personality. Jasper is even a certified Pet Therapy dog!
Jasper is neutered, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. He has a grade 3 heart murmur, though he does not require medication. Jasper has no other health issues. The veterinarian recommended that Jasper have a dental cleaning, not immediately, but at some point not too far down the road. Jasper’s coat has been clipped so he looks a little more like a puppy right now, but his coat will grow out in no time.
Jasper loves hanging out on the couch right next to someone. Indeed, Jasper likes being with “his human” (whichever one he picks, but likely a female), maybe in a little bed under her desk if she has a home office. Jasper enjoys going for walks; he would benefit from running in the backyard and regular walks to obtain a more healthy weight. Jasper knows basic commands and is a quick learner. Jasper is mostly housebroken and reliable when taken out on a regular schedule. It is important to learn Jasper’s signs for needing to go out. For example, Jasper should go out shortly after eating in the evening; he will normally take care of all his business. Jasper is quite the lovebug! Jasper would do well with a family where someone is home at least part of the day, to reinforce his feelings of security with his new family and surroundings, and because he loves being with “his human.” Jasper enjoys the company of everyone he meets. Jasper is so cute and funny you may want to take his picture a lot; Jasper is active, playful, friendly, and his tail is always wagging.
