Meet Lola and Lady, a sweet bonded pair of senior Cavalier girls. They are both extremely gentle and are loving, typical Cavalier dogs. They came into rescue due to the health issues of their previous owner.
Lola is a 9-year-old, 27-pound Blenheim female. She is sweet and cuddly and loves to be lifted up onto the couch for cuddles. Like most Cavaliers, she loves her food, but could benefit from losing a few pounds. She’s a stouter girl who does have some arthritis and hip dysplasia in her rear legs. No medication is needed now other than a daily glucosamine supplement. Weight loss and moderate exercise with no jumping up or down will help her feel better. Lola has a grade 1 heart murmur, but is not symptomatic.
Lady, the Tri-Color, is 12 years old. She was listed as a Cavalier mix, and it’s possible she has a bit of Cocker in her, given her longer snout, but she’s predominately Cavalier. Like Lola, she is on glucosamine to help with arthritis. She’s at a good weight for her frame at 27 pounds, but does need to be on an over-the-counter, limited diet for food allergies. She does have allergy medicine she takes on a daily basis along with medicated baths, both which have helped with her itchy skin. Lady has a grade 3 heart murmur, but no symptoms and does not require any medication at this point, which is awesome given her age.
Both girls are spayed, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccines. They recently had a dental while in foster care. They are housebroken and the perfect companion dogs. They are looking for a quiet adult home with someone home most of the day to keep them company. A fenced yard is needed since they have some hearing loss and they love being outside to explore. Given their age, they would do best in a home with few stairs, especially to the yard. They are used to sleeping downstairs in the kitchen on their dog beds together, though would of course welcome sleeping nearer to their humans, but steps may become difficult as they age.
Lola and Lady are fine with cats and other dogs. They would do best in a home with a gentle and relaxed older dog or would be wonderful only dogs.
Lady is eligible for our Share Care program, which provides reimbursement for half of the cost of medications for the first year of adoption.
