Tinkerbell in Mount Vernon, IL

Adoption Pending!

Tinkerbell is an 8-year-old Blenheim girl who was surrendered by a breeder to Cavalier Rescue. She is a shy, quiet dog who loves everyone and loves to be patted, but when things are quiet, she curls up in her dog bed for a nap. She cannot jump up on the furniture; but if her foster mom picks her up, she likes to stay and cuddle up.

Tinkerbell is a joy to have around the house. She is very curious about things and loves looking out the windows and exploring new places, especially the yard. She follows her foster family around, and loves to hang out in the kitchen when someone is cooking. If her foster family has to leave, she sleeps by the door with her two foster siblings.

The veterinarian recently spayed Tinkerbell and removed most of her teeth. She has only has three of her four canine teeth left, but she has no problem eating. Since her surgery, she has been eating soft food, which she loves, but she could probably return to her mix of kibble and soft.

She takes three heart medications daily and will need to continue doing so.

Tinkerbell is still learning how to be a pet. She handles new experiences well, and she is not timid unless a sudden, unexpected movement is made near her. She travels well, but does not know how to walk on a leash at all. She also doesn’t understand the playing that the other dogs do so naturally.

Tinkerbell loves other dogs, and it would be nice if she had another dog to learn from. Her foster family has not seen her around children or cats, but feels she will do well with them as well if they are gentle and don't startle Tinkerbell.
