Lacey in Boulder, CO

Lacey is an adorable, gentle, cuddly 10-year-old Tri-Color girl with the sweetest personality! Lacey currently lives with her foster mom, dad and four Cavalier brothers and sister in Boulder, Colorado.  Lacey gets along very well with her foster brothers and sister, but her favorite thing to do is cuddle on foster mom or dad’s lap. Lacey is very good at potty when taken outside.

She is a curious little dog that likes to explore and loves going on walks. She is very good on the leash. Foster mom and dad don’t think she hears well, but it is easy to get her attention and she has learned to sit in her foster home. Lacey would benefit from additional training; she loves to please.

Lacey would be happiest in a home where it is calm and her people are home during the day to give her lots of attention. Laps are a must; if there is a lap to be had, she will let you know she wants to be on it. While Lacey gets along well with her foster brothers and sister she doesn’t really interact with them very much so she could definitely be happy as an only dog.

Lacey likes to eat so her weight needs to be managed. She is just about perfect right now. Lacey loves people so visitors are not a problem. There are no cats in her foster home so we don’t know what Lacey would think of them. Lacey sleeps in a crate in the bedroom at night. She does sometimes bark early in the morning to be let out of her crate and taken outside.

Lacey has been diagnosed with Stage 5 Mitral Valve Disease; nevertheless, Lacey’s cardiologist, Dr. Lake-Bakaar, believes that her disease can be well managed through medications. Lacey is currently taking Pimobendan that costs approximately $45 per month; but to offset these costs, she is eligible for our Share Care program, which provides reimbursement for half of the cost of medications for the first year of adoption. Lacey recently had a dental cleaning; unfortunately her mouth was not in very good shape and she had to have 24 teeth pulled!  But she feels so much better now with no pain in her mouth. Her foster mom thinks her personality is really starting to show now that she is not in pain. Lacey’s vaccinations are up to date and the blood work lab report said everything is normal.

Lacey will bring love and joy to her forever family.
