Pumpkin in Georgetown, DE

Pumpkin came to Cavalier Rescue as breeder release. She is an active five-year-old Blenheim Cavalier Spaniel and weighs 28 pounds. She is adjusting well to the life of being a pet. She always looks happy and her tail wags most all of the time. Pumpkin loves to meet new people and other dogs.

Pumpkin gets along well with other dogs. Cats have warmed up to her also, but (of course) Pumpkin had to learn some cat rules. Pumpkin enjoys walks, and has excelled at learning leash manners …but all bets are off when she sees a squirrel. Pumpkin is not bothered by traffic, or other dogs or people encountered on walks.

Pumpkin is not perfectly house trained, but she has had no accidents during her time in foster care. She does need to be taken out on a regular basis.

Pumpkin is crate trained and sleeps all night in her crate. She may whine for a little bit, but eventually calms down and sleeps through the night. Pumpkin does not need to be crated when left alone in the house for brief periods, and is usually found sleeping next to her foster Cavalier brother upon returning home. (Pumpkin would most likely rather sleep in the bed with her adoptive family.)

Pumpkin travels well in a car with no travel sickness.  She enjoys car rides and always ready for adventures, especially visits to the pet store and home improvement warehouse.

Pumpkin is quickly learning how great it is to be a family pet. She always seems happy, and wants to please her people friends. Pumpkin has learned from her foster siblings just how fun it is to take walks, look for squirrels, deer and rabbits, and how to play in the yard.

Pumpkin has been spayed, and brought up to date on vaccines. She has had some dental work that included some tooth extractions, but she eats well with no issues. (It is advisable to soften her kibble in water to make it easier for her to eat.) Pumpkin is healthy and happy, but it would be good for her to lose few pounds.
