Here is the pup with his new mom…

Murphy is a sweet as pie 16.5 pound, 2-year-old boy that came from a less than desirable background as a breeder release. He was living in a pen with many other dogs and didn’t get much human interaction.

He’s so resilient though! At first grass, coming inside, food inside a bowl, and people scared and confused him, but in true Cavalier fashion he’s warmed up to all of that! On the first day he got over the grass and coming inside. Second day he mastered the doggy door. He also figured out that the best place for him is on the couch atop a pillow! He’s definitely been following the lead of his foster sibs and has gotten so much with better meeting new people.

He’s still a little wary of men, but that has been steadily improving as well. At first he was fine with the resident kitties, but now he prefers chasing them! He hasn’t shown much interest in playing fetch aside from chasing along with the other pups that do fetch. He LOVES bubbles though! He loves exploring the yard so an enclosed yard is a must. He will sometimes just hang out with a toy in the sunshine.

Murphy is a work in progress with his potty habits. He’s been marking rather than peeing, but he was just neutered and we’ve already seen an improvement. He had 2 teeth pulled at his neuter and is healing from that as well. He’s very healthy otherwise with no detectable heart issues. He’s up to date on all his vaccinations and is microchipped.

He gets along with all the dogs. Murphy is a true Cavalier! He’s an absolutely adorable, affectionate pup and will make someone very, very happy! He just needs patience and training with potty and walking on a leash.

Murphy is happy to sleep in his crate, but we are sure he’d be even happier in the big bed. He quietly sleeps through the night. He definitely likes having a pup companion, but he may do well as an only pup, too. He loves being with his people and is very affectionate, but not clingy. It’s been a privilege to see him blossom.
