Bailey in Tulsa, OK

JUST ADOPTED!

Hello, hello! My name is Bailey and I’m a 3-year-old former mommy in a breeding operation. I came into rescue with my crate buddy and was initially nervous and shy as I had not been handled or nurtured by my owners. It took me a while to warm up to living as a pet, but once I saw your kindness I melted from all of the back and belly rubs. Then I was able to return that love with kisses and cuddles on your lap!  My foster dad gives the best shoulder blade deep massages and ear and head scratches. Ooh! Ahh! Yess! Right there! Mmmm.

I apparently had eaten something before I arrived that I shouldn’t have and became very sick. The vet had to do a big surgery and got out some wire that had poked through my intestines. It wasn’t a fun time, but I was very grateful for all the care and attention.  I am all healed now and ready for my new life. I was also spayed and had my teeth cleaned. They poked me with vaccines and I am on heartworm and flea prevention. Oh, and I have some little chip that helps find me if I am lost.

I have been very happy with my foster dad and another foster dog that I like very much. We like to snuggle sleep and go on walks or ride in the car. My foster dad says I am a “sweetie-peetie”! I follow him all around the house and make sure I know where he is. I love his fenced backyard that is full of flowers and I go about and explore all of it. He took a picture of me sleeping in the flowers.  Silly me! I do love to sun myself outside. I like walks and am not overly fond of leashes. Walking in the quiet neighborhood I would rather drag the leash and walk right with you. I stay close and don’t wander. I need more practice walking with the leash.

I spend most of my day sleeping on my favorite couch spot with my favorite toy. I like children and other dogs that are my size and not aggressive or rowdy. I love to eat now that I feel better and will eat mine and go for my foster sister’s if not redirected. I also like a treat if I do the good outdoor “deed”. I get busy twice a day usually after I eat. We go out at least every 3 or 4 hours and have no accidents in the house. Since I ate something inedible, it is important that I have some safe flavorful chews and toys.

I would be most comfortable in a home with another calm small dog, someone home a lot and children who respect my space. Oh, and a fenced yard is important. I know how to use a dog door, but that isn’t imperative. I’m looking for that special family to love and cuddle with and be your sweet little pet forever!
