Missy in Loma Linda, CA

Meet Missy! This sweet and sassy senior Ruby Cavalier is the perfect embodiment of the saying, “Age is just a number.” At approximately 12 years old, Missy’s world turned upside down when her owner passed away and she wound up in a shelter. While sad and missing her owner, when the rescue volunteer came to pick her up, Missy leapt into the car, friendly as can be, happy to be out of the shelter and back into a home!

She adjusted quickly to the new routines in her foster home alongside two Cavalier siblings. Missy caught on to using a doggie door in no time, learned to sit patiently, though not always quietly, while meals are prepared and much to her foster mom’s chagrin, often barks at animals on TV. 

Larger in stature weighing 27 lbs, Missy needs to lose a few pounds so her foster mom carefully monitors daily portions at meal time. Her ideal weight per the vet is between 23-25 lbs. She is currently on a single protein, limited ingredient food to help with allergies. 

Missy sleeps soundly through the night but once the sun comes up, she will let you know she is ready to start the day. She is playful, and regularly tries to engage the other dogs in a game of chase. She is a very lovable pup who is sweet, affectionate, and playful.

Missy is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and recently had several skin tags removed, which only enhanced her already attractive appearance. Though she has some hair loss on her lower back and tail from years of untreated skin issues, she’s as lovable as ever. Missy is on medication to support her mobility, which helps keep her spry and active. 

She enjoys neighborhood walks and is great on a leash. However, if she comes across a reactive dog, she’ll happily join in the chorus of barks. As an errand companion, Missy is a super star in the car.  She is a quiet co-pilot, happy to ride along throughout your day.

Missy’s perfect forever home would be one filled with kindness, affection and the appreciation she truly deserves in her golden years. She’d especially enjoy the company of a like-minded, easygoing, playful mature pup and a home with low alone-time. In return, she promises unwavering devotion, heartwarming companionship, and the loyal love a senior dog can offer.
