Baby in Sidney, IL

Meet Baby, a sweet super cute 7-month-old female Ruby Cavalier. She was born 3/29/2024 and came to Cavalier Rescue USA because having a puppy wasn’t a good match with her owner’s stage of life.

Baby has settled into her foster home very well. She currently lives with 3 other Cavaliers and a kitty cat. They all get along very well. Also, she is good with the young 11-year-old boy she lives with. She has become a little protective of her foster dad and grumbles a little bit when she is on his lap and someone else approaches, but shows no signs of aggression.

Baby is up to date on her shots and micro-chipped. Her adoptive family will be required via our contract to have her spayed at about 9 or 10 months as she is currently too young for that procedure. She is a healthy girl according to the vet, but she has a retained deciduous tooth that the adoptive family’s vet will need to look at and remove during her spay.

Baby walks well on a leash but pulls a little bit. With a little training, she will be on her way. Her foster family has learned that Baby knows how to play fetch, sit, and a short stay command. Potty training is going really well, with hardly any accidents in the house. She loves the fenced in yard to run around and have occasional squirrel chase. She loves to carry around her stuffed animals and chew on a Nylabone.

Baby is crate trained when her foster family is away, but doesn’t like to sleep alone at night. Baby would do well in a home with someone there most of the time, so she doesn’t get lonely. A physically fenced yard is preferred.

She loves to lay in the front bay window at her foster home and watch for people and cars. She even enjoys watching TV and was recently barking at the dog in the movie she was watching with her foster family! Baby also tries to get the dogs in her foster home to play with her but they are older and have not been interested.
