Baron in Dallas, TX

Introducing Baron: A Tricolor Cavalier ready for his forever home

Meet Baron, a 4-year-old male born 8/9/2020 who has an abundance of love to give. Baron was surrendered to us after the loss of his owner. He came to us very timid and scared. Despite his shy nature he is very affectionate and loves going on walks and car rides.

Baron’s Joys: Baron enjoys roaming around outside and laying in the sun. He is becoming more playful everyday and is starting to play more with toys the more comfortable he is becoming. He love’s being on his leash and will greet anyone willing to love on him.

A Day in the Life of Baron: Mornings and evenings are the highlights of Baron’s Day, as he eagerly anticipates breakfast and dinner as well as his mid-day snacks that offer little bursts of joy. After breakfast he loves to lay outside and take in the sun. When it’s time to unwind, he’s content to go in his crate or curl up on the sofa or bed.

Baron’s Health and Habits: Baron is in good health. He is up-to-date on all core vaccinations, on heartworm preventatives, had a recent dental and microchipped. He has a history of ear infections but it is currently clear and his ears are doing well. From having these past ear infections he is very sensitive to be touched around his ears. His is mostly potty trained but has the occasional accident. He can be very shy and will hide out in the bedroom or his crate all day if you let him so we keep the doors shut so he can be an active part of things. At night, Baron will sleep soundly in his crate but would really love to be in a human bed.

Baron can be fearful causing him to retreat and growl. This can happen if you touch his ear or when he is not feeling confident. This has lessened during his time in foster care and he has never taken it further than growling. He needs an experienced owner who can continue to gain his trust and will not be upset if he does retreat and growl.

Baron’s Ideal Home: This special pup would thrive in a home with a secure yard and a family that’s home with him the majority of the time to share in his adventures and offer him lots of bonding time. He would be best suited in a quiet home with no children as he thrives one on one with no distractions. He gets along with other dogs but can be territorial at times so would do best being the only pet. He will need a family that is patient and willing to work with him until he learns to trust and feels less stressed in his new environment.
