Baron in Fletcher, NC

JUST ADOPTED!

Baron is a sweet loving 1.5 year old boy (born 3/13/23). Due to no fault of his own, Baron ended up in rescue when his family situation got complicated and his owner could no longer provide the care and attention he needed.

He currently weighs 13 lbs, has been brought up to date on vaccines, treated for intestinal parasites, and neutered while in our care.

Baron has adjusted quickly, fitting into his foster home with 2 other Cavaliers and a cat. Baron had obviously never met a cat before and does not know what to make of her and tends to annoy her! He can entertain himself happily with a rubber ball, but he loves wrestling with his foster canine siblings and it’s a great outlet for his young energy. Because of this, it’s a must that he goes to a home with another like-sized youthful playful pup. He has been around children also, so a home with dog savvy children would be fun for him as well!

He is very active, as most young Cavaliers are, and is food motivated which helps him to quickly learn new commands. He does not seem to have had any basic training, and still displays some typical puppy-like behaviors such as jumping, getting very excited, and nipping. He is learning to sit nicely as well as learning other basic commands. His new family needs to be an active one, with someone home most of the day, committed to exercising him daily and working with him on basic commands.

He is house broken, but there were a few accidents early on in foster care. And because he arrived to us intact, he did mark occasionally around the house, wore a belly band indoors. He’s a quick learner and in no time, will likely have his new routine down and be reliably potty trained.

A securely fenced yard is required and since he’s a small dog, he fits between the slats of a standard picket fence. Baron loves to play with balls, and chew toys, and run and play outside.

Baron is crate trained and currently sleeps in a crate at night, as long as he’s in the ‘big bedroom’ and not by himself in a different room, he is quiet all night long. He’d probably love to sleep in the big bed with his forever family.
