Bella and Jax in Federal Way, WA

Meet the cutest two little peas in a pod, Bella and Jax! Offering twice the cuddles and love, they are an adult bonded pair. Sweet Bella, the 7-year-old ruby female, and her handsome BFF, Jax, an 8-year-old black and tan, found their way to foster care through no fault of their own after their caring owner had a change in life circumstances which necessitated the assistance of rescue. They are much beloved by their foster family who report both Bella and Jax as having sweet, gentle dispositions and a love for walks and napping on the couch.

Ever the lady, Bella is more reserved initially, but she will readily commit wholeheartedly to a favorite person and is friendly with everyone she meets. She enjoys playing with her toys just as much as settling down to cuddle or take a nap. She’s zesty and opinionated at times, but overall, very well behaved and even knows a couple of commands. She has been an absolute joy to her foster family.

Jax is the quintessential extrovert and has never met a stranger. Typical of the Cavalier breed, he is definitely a velcro dog, demonstrating an exceptionally deep level of care and awareness. Jax eagerly awaits affection and connection, following his people around the house in case they dole out extra pets or need a cuddle. He is a little goofball with a side of sneaky if food is left unattended. He, too, has been an absolute joy to his foster family and has closely bonded with their younger son.

Jax also has a little quirk of chasing shadows. His foster family has noticed this behavior when he’s outside in the sun with others around. He doesn’t seem bothered when he goes in the backyard for potty breaks, but when he sees shadows of the foster family kids playing, he stands around and tries to catch their shadows.

Both Bella and Jax are happy travelers as well as wonderfully behaved with gentle children and other dogs. They absolutely love going for walks and easy hikes, and their favorite place to be inside is on the couch. They’re truly an amazing pair and would do best in a home where their primary caregiver was home most of the time or with whom they could most always tag along.

Shortly after coming into rescue, Bella and Jax received a much-needed dental cleaning and a few extractions. Neither take any medications, and they both received clean bills of health from a trusted veterinarian. Bella weighs 15 lbs and Jax weighs 22 lbs.

While reviewing Jax’s previous vet records, we noticed and brought to the veterinarian’s attention that Jax was reported to have suffered two seizures in his lifetime. While in rescue though, he has never exhibited any behavior other than that of a happy, healthy pup, and so they recommend just monitoring him.

Both Bella and Jax are house trained, however, because they are such sweeties, their cues to go outside are subtle and may not alert everyone. So, it would be best if their caregiver can commit to a schedule to avoid any accidents.
