Bentley in Middletown, PA

Bentley is a sweet cuddly 6-year-old Blenheim boy who came into rescue when he was released from a Lancaster County commercial breeder. Bentley’s favorite this is to cuddle up with his foster family on the couch and get tons of snuggles!

Bentley is learning how to be a house dog, but he has discovered the joy of snuggling up with humans on the comfy couch. He is not a fan of his crate for long periods of time so someone who is home much of the day would be a good fit for Bentley. Another dog in the home would be a bonus for him to have a friend! He sleeps in the same room as his foster mother at night.

Bentley will greet people when they come into the house with a wagging tail and his sweet looks. He has met some other Cavaliers on a visit but has not been cat or kid tested. More time in the community and with other dogs will help Bentley build confidence and grow his personality and practice his leash walking.

Bentley continues to work on his house training. He may go in circles to indicate he wants to go out but does not like being on a leash. For this reason, a fenced yard may be best suited for Bentley for his potty needs. Bentley is slow on the steps going in and outside.

Bentley recently was neutered and had a dental where they removed 25 teeth. This does not keep him from enjoying his food or treats though! Bentley was seen by the Cardiologist for a grade 5/6 heart murmur and does not need medication at this time. He should follow with the cardiologist yearly to monitor this condition.

Bentley currently weighs about 15 lbs and should probably loose about 1/2 pound to be at an ideal weight. Bentley was placed on a low sodium diet and gets salmon oil in his food once daily. He would benefit from heart healthy treats to help with training.
