Brie in Washington, DC

ADOPTION PENDING!

Brie is a friendly 3-year-old Blenheim female who came into rescue after being retired by a breeder. At first she was slow to trust that she was safe, but she has made amazing progress. She is a very curious girl who is excited to learn new things and explore the world around her in a loving home. Her resilience and ability to love despite her past is what rescue is all about. This girl is very special, and she deserves to find her special forever family!

Everyone who meets Brie instantly falls in love with her joyful, affectionate spirit. She has made instant friends with her two Cavalier foster sisters. At first, she wouldn’t move on a leash and was frightened by the noises and bustle of city life. She quickly learned to love her walks and now navigates the busy city sidewalks of Washington, DC like a confident urban pup. She came into rescue slightly overweight but has reached her target weight of 18 to 19 pounds. She will need a home that will be disciplined in maintaining her healthy weight through a high-quality diet and lots of exercise.

Brie is in perfect health and has been spayed, micro chipped and is up to date on her vaccines through 2025. She is learning so many new things including the joys of treats and toys. Some of her favorites include fresh cut carrots, green beans and peanut butter.

She has been affectionately nicknamed “Tater Tot” because she loves nothing more than to snuggle and sleep like a little couch potato. She needs to have you in her sight at all times and will follow you room to room to make sure she’s close. She has learned how to charm and will insist that you pet her if you are within reach. She will need an owner who is home most of the time and willing to give her the attention she deserves.

Since her previous life was spent in a kennel, house breaking is a work in progress. She has learned quickly and is about 95% house trained using pee pads if she does have accidents indoors. Keeping her schedule consistent with frequent walks or potty breaks in a yard will be vital, and she will be a pro in no time.

While she is getting more comfortable being around new people and dogs, she would do best in a quiet, peaceful home without small children as sudden movements or noises frighten her. Brie gets along beautifully with other dogs and would do well in a home with another well behaved small dog or as a solo pup.

Brie is an absolute delight who wants to share her affection with everyone she meets.  She’s looking for her forever family to share adventures and a lifetime of unconditional love. We know that Brie will continue to flourish now that she has learned she can trust and is worthy of being loved. Do you have room in your heart and love to share for this special girl? She’s just waiting to find you!
