Cherokee in Walker, MI

JUST ADOPTED!

Let’s Play! That’s the battle cry for this handsome, 5-month-old male Blenheim born 6/1/24 who is named Cherokee. He came into rescue via a breeder surrender. Cherokee thinks every person he meets is his best friend and every dog he meets a best buddy. He is learning to walk on a leash and loves playing with his foster brother and sisters. He wears them out!

While in foster care, Cherokee has adjusted to being on a regular routine. He sleeps in his crate at night (the crate is next to his foster dad’s bed) and goes into the crate when his foster family leaves the house. However, Cherokee is not a fan of his crate, preferring to be with his people all the time. Despite his young age, he sleeps through the night (10 pm – 7 am) without needing any potty breaks.

Cherokee likes to explore as well as stick close to his foster family, he’s a typical Velcro Cavalier in that regard. He has also mastered the art of couch surfing and snuggling. He travels well in the car. Cherokee is still working on his house manners, so needs someone home during the day to allow him frequent potty trips outdoors. He will settle in best at a fur-ever home with a routine and moderate activity level.

He is up-to-date on his vaccinations and has been micro-chipped, but will need to be neutered when he is around 8 months old. His adopting family will need to agree to this in writing at the time of adoption. The vet gave Cherokee a clean bill of health. He is a spirited sweetheart of a dog: energetic, friendly, snuggly, and full of unconditional love!
