Dixie and Lily in Johnson City, TN

Update 3-30-25: We think we have found a great home for this pair, so aren’t taking more applications for now.

Dixie and Lily are a very bonded pair that need to be adopted together. Dixie is 4-years-old and Lily is 3-years old. They came into rescue from an elderly couple, after the wife passed and the husband fell ill. They were badly matted but have darling new fur-do’s.

Dixie weighs 34lbs and Lily weighs 32lbs. They could both lose some weight. Lily needs help getting on the couch. They are loving and cuddly who want to be in your lap. Dixie is a notorious seat stealer. If someone is in a chair she likes she is likely to climb up and become a nice neck and head rest. They certainly live up to a Cavalier‘s job of keeping you warm and providing support!

Dixie and Lily are curious, happy-go-lucky Cavaliers and good buddies. They love romping through the yard, chasing butterflies and birds. Lily likes to play with other dogs and loves plush toys, often carrying her favorite one around with her most of the day.

They are very sweet and do well with people of all ages. They greet humans by barking and Dixie will stand on her hind legs and place her front legs on the people.  Dixie likes to get tissues and eat them. She has the ability to get into trash cans so they should be out of reach. A little redirection and training could help them with these habits. Lily and Dixie ride in a car and walk on a leash wonderfully.

Dixie and Lily were brought up-to-date in vaccines and preventatives while in rescue. Lily does not like to jump but a vet check while in rescue and previous owners vet assessment reveal no known cause but possibly weight. Lily is on a supplement for her joints.

They both love to be with their humans and follow them room to room, especially the kitchen. They are both smart and quick to pick up on things.
