Franny in Cincinnati, OH

Franny is a delightful, tricolor Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who’s approximately 3-4 years old. A former mill mama, she radiates joy from the moment she wakes up. You’ll always know where she is—just listen for her constantly wagging tail tapping away! Franny’s greatest joy in life is snuggling, whether with her humans or another furry friend.

Franny came to her foster home with matted fur and patchy spots, but despite her initial appearance, she’s in good health. Her only medical note is grade 1 luxating patellas, a mild condition that doesn’t slow her down. She’s been spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated, and her coat is growing in beautifully. In time, we hope she’ll show off a full, gorgeous Cavalier coat and fluffy tail.

Since arriving at her foster home, Franny has made amazing progress. Initially timid, showing signs of food aggression and unsure of how to eat from a bowl, she quickly adapted and now shares bones and plays happily with her foster brother. She consistently eats and drinks from her bowl and has learned to trust and bond with her foster family.

Training and Behavior
Franny is working on her potty training. She loves being outdoors but can get distracted, so staying with her to ensure she goes potty is key. She’s a wonderful sleeper—she adores snuggling and sleeping in, either in her crate near her humans or in bed if invited.

While Franny is calm and loving in most situations, she does get anxious when left in a crate and may whine or cry. She would thrive in a home with a gated area or a safe room where she can relax when her family is out. Thankfully, she isn’t destructive and spends her alone time snuggling with her foster brother or watching the world through the window.

Personality
Franny embodies the affectionate “Velcro dog” nature of Cavaliers. She loves sitting on her foster mom’s lap during work hours and snuggling with her foster brother. Social, gentle, and incredibly patient, Franny has shown she’s great with babies, toddlers, and other dogs. She loves playing in the backyard (maybe digging sometimes), chasing toys, and even grooming her foster brother at bedtime.

The Ideal Home
Franny would thrive in a family with:

  • Another dog with a similar friendly, playful temperament
  • A secure backyard for playtime
  • Minimal alone time

She’s an excellent companion for outings, whether to restaurants, coffee shops, or car rides, as long as she has a lap to sit on! If you’re looking for a loving, affectionate, and social best friend who adores being hugged and held, Franny is the perfect match. She’ll fill your home with love and warmth!
