Gracie in Nashville, TN

Gracie is cautious around men and will back away. She definitely feels more comfortable with women.

Gracie loves to give kisses and be around her people and other dogs. She enjoys older children, as they are quieter and more predictable. She does not typically wander through the home; the couch is her safe place, and she spends most of her time there. She especially loves for you to join her and will happily come over to share some love with a lick, and if you’re lucky she’ll share a snuggle too. She even likes to eat her meals on the couch. Lately Gracie has started to explore and will excitedly jump down for a quick visit or to check to see where the foster family is when they leave the room. It is momentary and she usually quickly retreats back to her safe place, but she has made huge strides with this.

Gracie enjoys when the entire family is sitting together, watching television, or playing a game around the table. Gracie would do best with a family that is experienced with dogs as she may take some time to warm up to her new people and surroundings.

Gracie shows her silly side by stomping her feet and wagging her tail, and sometimes even howling when she is happy or excited. She has been known to sneak a toy away from her foster brother when he is not looking which is a testament to her intelligence and playfulness. Gracie is still figuring out how to interact and play with other dogs and toys, but is very interested. Another mature, confident dog could be good for Gracie but she would also do well as an only dog.

Gracie is very nervous outside and will not move at all or go to the bathroom if she’s wearing a harness or is on leash. She has progressed to using puppy pads inside which is a huge win. Because of this, we are only considering families with a secure fenced in yard so she can have the opportunity to adjust to pottying outside in the future.

Gracie has been spayed and had her teeth cleaned. She is up to date on her vaccines and preventatives.
