Meet Katie, a precious almost-five-year-old Blenheim girl (born on January 25, 2020) that came to rescue after spending her early years in a breeding facility.

At first, Katie was extremely fearful and anxious, but her endearing, sweet personality quickly began to emerge. Katie has made remarkable progress in a very short time. She has blossomed from a timid, shy girl into one that eagerly gives and receives love. She has embraced what it means to be a happy, well-adjusted house dog.

Energetic and playful, Katie loves running in a fenced yard, but she also has learned to walk well on a leash and enjoys her walks outdoors. Katie loves her food and gets very excited at meal time. She shows her enthusiasm by jumping up and down and running to her feeding spot.

Katie’s favorite place in the world is your lap! If you are sitting down, there is no other place she will be, remaining there for as long as you are willing to sit. If you are looking for the ultimate lap dog, Katie is your girl!

Katie is in good health. She’s up to date on all her vaccinations, and recently received dental procedures and her spay surgery.

Katie is also doing great with potty training. She has not had any indoor accidents since the first week she was in foster care. Katie does become anxious when shut up in a crate, so crating her even for short time periods is not recommended.

Katie’s transformation in such a short timespan highlights her resilience and gentle spirit. She would thrive in a home where she can enjoy daily walks and be part of a loving routine. The ideal home for Katie would offer a securely fenced yard where she can run and explore. Katie would fit best with a family where someone is home the majority of the time.

Katie needs someone that has patience and a calm, quiet lifestyle to help her continue her journey of learning to trust. She gains confidence from her canine foster siblings, so a trusting, pleasant other dog would be an added benefit.

Katie is a sweet and loving girl, eager to bring joy and affection to your home. She asks for little in return for her devotion, but deserves so much.
