Lucy in Baltimore, MD

Lucy is a young Blenheim female born 02/07/2023 who came to rescue as an owner surrender. Even though her owner loved her very much, Lucy’s obsession with the family cat was too much to handle.

She is a lovely young dog with a sweet personality, spunk, and curiosity, and she is adaptable to other dogs’ temperaments. Lucy is currently staying with a 3-year-old hyper Terrier and a lazy 8-year Cavalier. She gets along with them well and leaves the senior dog alone except when cuddling at nap time.

Lucy is curious but drools when taking in her new surroundings. She has a mischievous side and inspects closets, runs out of closing doors, and climbs on top of furniture. She knows the meaning of no and sometimes refuses to listen, barking and spinning in protest, especially when leaving the house, but just for a minute or two and settles quickly. She seems timid at first, but she is very observant and learns the rules quickly.

Her coat is extra soft, and she stays still during bath time. She enjoys being brushed and dried with the blow dryer. She has no fear of the vacuum and walks well on a leash. Lucy also loves to play dress up. If you hold a sweater up, she runs right over and puts her head in. Her favorite color is pink, of course.

Lucy has had many vet visits in her short lifespan. She has experienced monthly seizures with epilepsy being a possible condition. She has had one seizure while in rescue, but the vet is not recommending medication at this time. Lucy is up to date on all her shots and is spayed.

She would do well with older children, and it would be good if she had another small dog as a playmate.
