Maya in Loma Linda, CA

Meet Maya! This charming 2-year-old girl is destined to bring joy to any home. Born on 7/12/22, Maya’s striking tricolor markings and affectionate nature make her an absolute delight. Due to changes in her previous owner’s circumstances, Maya found her way to rescue where she quickly captured hearts with her lovable personality.

From day one in her foster home, Maya has made it clear she’s all about snuggling. True to her Cavalier nature, she’s a Velcro dog who loves to be close to her humans and fellow canine companions. She’ll happily turn your lap into her favorite nap spot. Maya has been spayed, microchipped, and is up-to-date on her vaccinations. She’s healthy and at an ideal weight for her size.

Affectionately called “M” or “Maya the Magnificent,” she has a hearty appetite and is highly treat-motivated. This helps with positive reinforcement of expected behaviors. At night, she sleeps soundly in her crated area but also enjoys cuddling in the big bed with her foster family. She’s working on her potty habits and is showing a lot of progress when taken out regularly throughout the day and evening.

A cautious explorer, Maya takes her time surveying the backyard before joining in the fun with her foster siblings. She’s curious and loves chasing butterflies and lizards. Out and about, Maya eagerly greets everyone she meets, from neighbors to dogs of all sizes. While she’s improving her leash skills, she tends to zigzag towards intriguing sights. Continued obedience training and setting clear boundaries will help Maya continue to thrive. Due to her excitement and tendency to jump, a home with small children is not ideal.

Maya finds comfort in the company of other dogs and would thrive in a home with a friendly canine buddy. She might whimper a bit when her humans leave, but she quickly settles down and stays close to her foster siblings until they return. Maya is a great car rider and makes a fantastic co-pilot and errand buddy. She’d also be a loyal companion for someone working from home or in an office. She is currently living with several cats and while she is curious, she does not chase them.
