Oliver in Whittier, CA

Meet Oliver, an irresistibly handsome Black and Tan Cavalier, born July 26, 2023. Raised with love and care, Oliver was adored by his former family, who prioritized his well-being when changes in their personal lives led them to make the tough decision to release him to rescue.

This little guy is filled with youthful energy and curiosity, making every day an adventure. Whether he’s exploring or sniffing around the yard, Oliver is always eager to experience something new.

Oliver is vocal when he wants your attention, and is not at all shy. His social personality shines through at home or out and about. Oliver’s great when meeting new friends of all ages. His previous family included a dog friendly cat and a small child. He has met several youngsters while in his foster home and welcomes their presence.

Oliver loves playtime and has a soft spot for his toys, keeping himself entertained with his favorite ones. He will let you know immediately if a toy rolls out of reach or under the couch. When he’s not playing, Oliver is all about snuggles, happiest when he’s cuddling or napping close to his person.

Oliver is working on potty training, and does well with frequent outdoor breaks throughout the day and then again before bedtime. Low alone hours will help him achieve continued success.

Oliver is also learning to navigate the outside world with leash walks. He enjoys car rides, happily tagging along for errands. Since he does love to explore, a mindful eye needs to be kept while any doors or gates are open, as Oliver will take the opportunity to head out in the neighborhood.

While in foster care, Oliver was neutered, brought up to date on vaccines and is microchipped. He is in excellent health and at an ideal weight. His soft, silky coat is starting to feather beautifully as he matures.

Oliver would thrive with an active family ready to include him in their adventures. Whether cheering on a team at the ball field, or joining in for a camping trip and hiking, Oliver is eager to be part of the pack. With regular exercise and reinforcement of basic commands, his energy and enthusiasm will be well-directed. Oliver would be a great candidate for an agility or nose-work class.
