Ollie in Madisonville, LA
Here is the pup with his new family…
Meet Ollie, a handsome Blenheim Cavalier born 04/01/2018! With his infectious smile and wagging tail, he is a bundle of joy that makes people smile everywhere he goes.
Ollie came to Cavalier Rescue USA when his family accepted a job transfer thousands of miles away. Having grown up as the sole canine companion, Ollie is fiercely loyal to his humans. When not playing and cuddling with kids in the house, Ollie can easily entertain himself. In his foster home, Ollie has learned a lot from his new furry siblings and discovered that having other dogs in the home can be fun! Ollie has blended into his new environment graciously.
Ollie boasts some desirable traits like being potty trained and crate trained, and he rarely barks. He sleeps in an open crate in the bedroom at night and is smart enough to know he needs to go potty before he retires for the night. Ollie taught his previous family to let him out when he rings the bells that were hanging from the back door. His foster family is trying to continue this tradition for his furever home, and rings the bells every time they go outside.
Although Ollie enjoys exploring the yard and searching for lizards, he races back into the house to be with his humans. Curious and inquisitive about what you are doing, he will follow you everywhere and settle into a peaceful slumber when his humans do. If Ollie wants a hug, he will sit at your feet and give you a gentle nudge. Although Ollie has not been one to get on the furniture, his previous family reports that he would sit on the arm of the sofa and watch TV with them at night.
Ollie has been well cared for and is in good health, including being heart clear. Ollie has been microchipped, treated for an ear infection, and given a topical treatment for the dry skin at the top of his nose. His vaccinations are due in mid-May. Ollie appears to be hard of hearing, but follows commands from hand gestures, and understands “sit.” This bundle of joy weighs in at 33 pounds but does not appear overweight.
Having never met a stranger, Ollie enjoys walks and meeting new people, both big and small. He has not had any interactions with cats. Nap times are very important to Ollie, and he can be a deep sleeper.
Ollie would like nothing more than to have his own furever home for his upcoming 7th birthday on April 1st.
