Ozzie in Baltimore, MD

Ozzie is a 5-year-old male Cavalier mix that came into rescue from a breeding facility. If you want the smarts of a poodle (and no shedding!) and the sweetness of a Cavalier, then Ozzie is your guy. He is still very puppy-like, given that each experience is new to him. Ozzie is very inquisitive and always happy and ready to learn.

When he first arrived in foster care, Ozzie was a bit tentative about stairs, but now he goes up and down large and small flights of stairs without a pause. He is good in his crate when the family has had to leave the house, and has learned within the first day to “settle,” and sleep through the night on his dog bed.

He loves to settle on the sofa next to a human. Ozzie is great with the foster family’s cat. During his time in foster care, Ozzie has learned how to walk on a leash and is about 90-95% housebroken. He will need additional training with positive reinforcement.

Ozzie is genuinely a great family dog. He is excellent with kids, cats, and other dogs and even received an A+ from the foster kid’s grandparents.

Once in rescue, he received the medical care he needed. Ozzie is up-to-date with all his vaccines and is microchipped.

The ideal forever home would be a home with someone home most of the time to spoil him and give Ozzie the love and devotion he missed during his former life.
