Rusty in Georgetown, KY

Rusty is a 3.5-year-old male Ruby Cavalier weighing in at 23 pounds. He’s a stunningly beautiful boy with that classic Cavalier charm—his tail never stops wagging! Rusty has a friendly, gentle disposition and gets along well with every dog he’s met. He’s also good with cats and was fine when he met our 16-month-old granddaughter, although he might find young children a bit overwhelming due to his cautious nature.

Rusty is a bit skittish, especially with sudden movements or being approached from above, but he’s learning to trust his surroundings. He’s cautious, but once he feels comfortable, his sweet personality shines through.

While he rides well in the car, Rusty isn’t familiar with jumping in or out, and he’s still learning about leashes. Right now, he needs leash training as he struggles on leash. House training is a work in progress—he currently wears a belly band indoors due to occasional marking, but he’s making strides in crate training and even took a nap in it today!

Rusty is very interested in human food but less excited about dog food. However, with a little chicken broth on top, he’s started eating from his bowl. Otherwise, he’s been eating from hand. He is in good health with no major issues. He’s up-to-date on vaccinations and has been thoroughly checked by our vet.
