Sammy is a gentle and sweet 9-year-old white Cavalier mix born 6/01/2015 weighing 14.6 pounds, searching for a patient and loving forever home. She’s up to date on all her vaccines and had her last dental check-up in May. Due to a previous diet of only soft food, Sammy has some gum recession and is currently on a medicated liquid for her gums. Her vet advises that soft food should be given only as an occasional treat. Sammy recently hurt her back left paw and is on antibiotics to help with healing.

Sammy can be a little shy at first, but with time and kindness, she warms up and shows her affectionate side. Though she can be timid, she genuinely seeks love; she just sometimes has trouble expressing it. Sammy thrives in a calm, quiet environment where she feels safe and secure. She loves curling up in her favorite spot and learning new things at her own pace.

Sammy is house-trained, though she may have an accident if she gets scared. Now that she’s comfortable in her foster home, she hasn’t had any issues. She gets along great with her foster dog and cat siblings, so she would do well either as an only dog or with another pet. A secure yard would be ideal for Sammy to explore, and she would do best with someone who is home most of the day.

Sammy would thrive with a family that understands her needs and is willing to give her the time and space to come out of her shell.
