Teddy in Carterville, IL
Theodore (also known as Teddy) is a sweet, loving 5-year-old, male tricolor Cavalier born October 26, 2019. He came to Cavalier Rescue USA from a commercial breeder with the help of a Good Samaritan.
Teddy has adjusted beautifully to his foster family and loves hanging out with the family, especially the other dogs. He enjoys running outside with his five foster siblings, and likes hanging around in the yard while his foster Dad works in the garden.
Indoors, Teddy cuddles on the couch or sleeps in his open crate. He is very affectionate and loves being petted. Teddy is eager to please, and responds well to food rewards. He is crate-trained and used to eating in his crate.
His favorite person in the household is his foster Dad, and sometimes Teddy will cry when his foster Dad leaves. Teddy will bark if he is upset, distressed, or sometimes excited.
Teddy is healthy. He weighs eighteen pounds. He has been microchipped and neutered. Teddy had a dental exam, which included removing eight teeth. He is up to date on vaccinations and flea and heartworm preventatives.
When Teddy came into foster care, he marked frequently in the house, so his foster family has kept a belly band on him. However, after being neutered and spending more time outside, his marking has greatly reduced.
Teddy is easy-going, but he appreciates having his foster family home most of the time. He is sometimes anxious when people leave. Teddy is looking for a home with a fenced-in yard, so he can go out frequently. Teddy would like someone home most of the time. He would also like another dog to hang out with. He is not cat tested.
