Hudson and Haven in Narragansett, RI

Here are Hudson and Haven with their new family…

Hudson and Haven are an affectionate, happy, bonded pair of Cavaliers. They are both master escape artists, and that may be how they ended up with animal control and then rescue. They will require a home with a VERY securely-fenced yard. They love cuddling on the couch, roaming the yard, and going for long walks, especially on the beach. Everyone who meets them loves them.

Hudson is a handsome, neutered, black and tan Cavalier male, around 5 or 6 years old. He weighs 16.5 lbs. Hudson is a sweet, affectionate, “velcro pup” who loves to be with his humans as much as he loves being with his companion, Haven. His favorite thing to do is carry a sock around to snuggle with.

Haven is a petite, beautiful, softest-of-the-soft, spayed, female, Blenheim Cavalier. She is 3 or 4 years old and weighs 15 lbs.  Haven is the consummate lap dog who could spend endless hours curled up on your lap. Like her companion, Hudson, she eagerly greets everyone she meets. She has a fondness for little, stuffed animals and anything that Hudson has! Haven can be possessive of toys and treats. For this reason, we feel a home with older children would be best.

Both Hudson and Haven are in excellent health. They are up-to-date on immunizations and preventatives. They do not require a crate, except for travel, as they are well-behaved when home alone. They love sleeping in the big bed and will do best in a home where someone is home much of the day. They are lovable, happy, affectionate, and ready for their forever home.

If you feel you meet all the criteria and can provide a loving, safe, comfortable home for Hudson and Haven, and you have submitted our online application, please, email Barbara Blanchette at: blanchettebarbara06@gmail.com to let her know of your interest in this wonderful, bonded pair.

This well-behaved duo are anxious to please and affectionately follow their foster parents everywhere. They are both extremely sweet and loving, always looking for the next opportunity to cuddle. Rocky and Bailey are currently living with three other Cavaliers and seamlessly adjusted to their foster family.

They are potty-trained and can be left alone for short periods of time. Both dogs sleep all night long, and wait for their parents to get up.

Bailey’s favorite activity is going on walks. She becomes very excited and vocal when she senses it’s time to go!

Bailey tends to be a bit shy, but with encouragement, she will enthusiastically jump on your lap for cuddles.

Sophie and Marley in Summerville, SC

Here are the pups with their new family…

Sophie and Marley are a bonded pair that came to Cavalier Rescue USA as an owner surrender.

Sophie (Ruby) is 9 years old, born on 2/23/2015. Sophie weighs 19 pounds. She is spayed, microchipped and up to date with her heartworm and flea preventatives. Sophie is in good health.

Sophie is the perfect cuddle bug. She desires a lot of attention and love. She is happiest on someone’s lap. She gets along great with other dogs, cats and all people she meets. She also loves to go for walks. Sometimes you will catch her and Marely playing together. In new places, Sophie is shy. It takes a bit for her to warm up. With reassurance and patience, she will be attached in no time.

Marley (Blenheim) is an 11 year old, perfect gentleman, born on 3/11/2013. Marley weighs 17 pounds. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations and heartworm and flea preventatives. Marley has a grade 2 heart murmur but does not require any treatment at this time. Otherwise, he is in good health.

Marley loves to go for walks. He has such a swag that when walking he’d be in rhythm with the song Stayin’ Alive. Marley is so friendly and gets along well with dogs, cats, and anyone he meets. Marley is very quiet and rarely barks. Coming into foster, he made himself right at home. He can often be found napping on the couch, or the family bed.

Marley and Sophie would do best in a home where there is someone home most of the time and in a semi-active family, that can take them for longer walks, but also one that likes some down time for cuddles. For the most part, they both walk well on a leash, but sometimes they pull and are pretty strong. So, the owners will need to be able to hold onto them. The future owner of these babies are getting two amazing additions to the family.

Roscoe in Hollywood, FL

Here is Roscoe with his new dad…

Hi, my name is Roscoe and I’m a special 14 month old merle color Cavalier and I just want to be your forever buddy. If you’d like an adorable puppy to be by your side and snuggle in your lap, that’s me! I am a lover who loves attention in return. In fact, I’d like to follow you where ever you go. I’m also quite protective of my person and my house and will bark to alert you of any “stranger danger”. I actually came from a loving home but spent a lot of time in a crate and didn’t get enough attention so I’m super happy with my foster mom who is with me all day.

My foster mom says I’m super sweet, very affectionate and I’m a good boy. I haven’t had any accidents in my foster home. She takes me outside in her big backyard a lot since I don’t really know how to signal when I need to “go”.  I also like to go for walks and am pretty good on a leash, too. My foster mom tells me to “sit” when other dogs walk past and I behave well. But, I do need help with socialization and being fearful of other dogs. Riding in a car is fine with me since I like to go along anywhere! If I’m left alone in the house, I’m ok and don’t get into trouble.

Did I tell you that I have made friends with my foster mom’s cat? We even snuggle together sometimes. It’s strange that I like cats but am not so sure about other dogs. I’d really like to be the only dog in my new home and I would rather not have children around all the time, either. I like a quiet, less active home since too much commotion scares me which makes me bark and growl. I’d be fine if you put me in a crate when you are having a party or lots of people around, especially children. I sleep just fine in my crate but I’d really like to snuggle up with you in your bed.

I’ve also got a clean bill of health after being fully vaccinated and neutered since being in Rescue. The vet said I was very healthy and didn’t have any health issues.  My weight is perfect at 14.8 lbs and I’m just the right size to pick up and also travel with. I have a beautiful coat with one dark blue eye which is typical of Merle coloring and, just another thing that makes me special!

If you want a loyal companion who loves to sit on your lap, follow you from room to room and be your snuggle buddy forever then please fill out an application to adopt me. All I need is a nice fenced in backyard, a quiet home with no children, for you to be with me most of the day and to be the only dog. Cats are okay. Once you apply, just let Sue Wesson, suewesson@snet.net, know that you are interested in me and she will review your application and give you a call if you are a good match. It would be preferable if you live within a reasonable driving distance to my foster home in Hollywood, FL.

Roxy in Richmond, VA

Here is the pup with her new family…

Roxy is a shy 7-year-old Cavalier who came to Cavalier Rescue USA from a breeder. She has had several litters of puppies and is now ready for a forever home where she can cuddle all day. Roxy did not know how to be a dog when she came into the rescue, and her foster family introduced her to all the great things about being a dog in a loving foster home.

Roxy is currently learning many things she missed out on during her earlier years. She is working on walking on a leash, mastering potty training, and practicing her impressive dog tricks. Since all of this is new to her, Roxy is a bit fearful but bravely explores her surroundings. She will require a patient family that emphasizes positive reinforcement in her training.

One thing Roxy excels at is cuddling. She takes this very seriously and will squeeze into the tiniest spaces to sit beside her foster family. Roxy enjoys following her people around, anticipating cuddle moments. She has a wonderful personality—energetic, polite, and loving.

Roxy weighs 18 lbs and is in good health. She has a luxating patella that does not require surgery. When she arrived at the rescue, she had hair loss due to a flea infestation, but her coat is now growing back in a rich ruby color. She is currently on anti-itch medication and may need to continue it.

Roxy would thrive in a home where someone is present most of the time. She struggles with separation anxiety, which leads her to try to break free from gates and scratch doors to find her people. Because of her fears, she would do best with an adult family or one with older children. She enjoys the company of her foster siblings but would also do well as an only dog.
